Ebay Listing for HMC150

Hey all. I don't wanna be "that guy", but just wanted to get a few opinions on the legitimacy of a specific ebay listing for an HMC150. Not a veteran of this board, so if this is uncouth, somebody please let me know.

Here's the link

Price is 3129.99. I know that normally when things are too good to be true, they usually are. Chances of this being grey market, some other sort of scam? Again, I'm not ignorant, just wanted to get a few opinions on this.

Thanks. And if this thread is out of line, feel free to delete.

That guy has a bunch of positive feedbacks for big items... I'm sure you are going to get the 'never buy from ebay' comments though...

I would recommend a strong (authorized) retailer, if you do have any problems you will be much better off.

From the listing: " Due to our very low low prices, we are prevented from listing our items with manufacturer warranty."

Not true. Panasonic would warranty it... Unless it's gray market?

:violent5:

Stick to buying for an authorized dealer, it will pay off in the long run, maybe a few extra bucks but well worth it

I would be interested - if you buy it - to hear what happens.

It does, indeed, seem too good to be true because of all those extras.

It is a bunch of extras, but the type that fall of the back of a cargo ship from china... most of them are pretty worthless or poor quality.

But yeah I would be interested in your feedback if you purchase!

It's the same gray market kit they sell for every prosumer camera on Ebay. I don't know if it's the same uername, but the pictures are identical. Based on the feedback I have little doubt you'd get a usable camera, and if that's your budget it should be fine. I know I'm a dissenter here for saying this, but Ebay has always served me well, you just need to look closely at what you're doing and get a good feel for BS. If you need a warranty or whatever other support gray market can't give you, obviously don't go for it.

Try to get a little bit more money and buy from B&H Photo. When you see positive feedback on eBay, please check the following:
1). Make sure those feedbacks don't come from small transactions, because someone registered 100 accounts and buy 100 $1 item from himself, within 48h, there will be 100 positive feedbacks.
2)> Make sure those who left feedback are not single-users, if each one of nthem has ONLY one feeback, it is also wa arning sign.
3). Nerver buy from Asian countries (Except Japan).

Good luck!

Pascal, great to hear....

Have you tried registering it and getting a 1 year or even a 3 year warranty like ours come with?

How about registrations for downloading new firmware and such?
If it were gray market would you still be able to get firmware updates?
