Ebay canon xh-a1 battery

You get what you pay for. The only ones I trust are Lenmar and the OEM batteries. Typically with the insanely cheap ones there will just be a huge empty space inside of it where on the OEM one there would be a couple cells.
 
For what it's worth, I bought 2 similar to this a couple years ago, (also off ebay and also really cheap and no-name) and they've worked great. I still use them, and they still last. Mind you I don't use my XHA1 as much as most. But I bought them strictly because of price.
 
I don't doubt you and I did too, about 6yrs ago for the Panasonic GS400 via a US company and they ran well. I found those via a positive post on a website by a guy who also found them via a post on another website etc.

Maybe if Chris buys his he could tell us about them, but by the time he runs them in, we'll all have updated our cameras :) It's different now.

However not being a name brand they're not all manufactured to the same standards, there must be hundreds of these types and unfortunately it's still lottery.
