Easy viewing of HVX P2 rushes in the field?

I'm setting up a 17" PowerBook as a P2 card offloading station for location shoots. Thinking through the workflow on a TVC for instance I can see that at the end of a days shooting the Director / Producer / DP, will want to view rushes in a hurry, right there on the laptop.
I have P2 Log and FCP Studio but I'm wondering if there are any quicker and easier native mxf viewing apps available, or a way to drop a bunch of clips ( or cards?? ) into a playlist app like VLC or QT XList, and allow me to scroll through many clips quickly?
Ideally an app just for viewing, that you could drag a card or cards onto and then just scroll through all your rushes timeline style would be really useful.
Any thoughts?

Isn't this exactly what P2 log will do? I have the HD Log version and I can just put the card into the laptop and play it instantly without having to copy or download. You also have a "list view" where you see thumbnails off all the clips on the card with timecode in and outs etc.

Yes, P2 log offers something like this, unfortunately screen realestate is pretty crammed when trying to have a few cards open at the same time, and it wont join split segments for seamless playpack. But it is much faster to launch than FCP...

And much cheaper than FCP for just viewing rushes.
It would just be really nice to have a quick easy way to show a client or Producer ( generally not the most patient people in the world! ) a series of shots at a good resolution without having to scroll through a long list and open each one individually ( as with P2 Log ).
I guess with FCP 5.1.2 ( Alelujah!!! ) that will be the way to do it, have the P2 assistant importing into FCP and compiling all the rushes on a timeline throughout the day so it is easy to play them down and skip through when necessary.
Just one more job for the increasingly important P2 assistant.
