DVXuser's Rush no longer at EVS

Man I called EVS today to get a quote. and man do I already miss talking to rush. Don't get me wrong I talked to Randy and he is a good guy and helped me out with everything I needed. But it wasn't the same at all. Rush was just the man.. But EVS is still a good place and will buy from theme. So good luck Rush.. And hope to work on something with you in the future.

Just to echo what everyone else has said, Rush you will be really missed at EVS. Like everyone else has said, the reason I continued to shop there was because of you and the fact that you never once sold me anything, just made suggestions. The level of service that you offered your customers was incredible, especially with the problem I had with the wrong credit card being charged. On top of that, and most importantly, your honesty regarding different products was something I have never seen before (referencing our Glidecam conversation, for example). I appreciate everything you have helped me with and wish ya the best of luck regarding your future projects.

This could be a good thing though, more time to hang out and talk shop with us here... as a consumer I'm still depressed though.

Here's to ya, Rush! :)

Thanks Imgen, Yankee (Jeremy), and Terry, you guys really made life easy for me at the store. You and all the other DVXusers were so easy to talk to, I never felt like a salesman, but more of an adviser. A Consiglere! :) Thanks again for making it a positive three years.

hey rush,

congratulations! hope to see your work on the big screen some day! always appreciated your honesty and kindness. you're a good human being. good luck with you, and you're still tha man!

by the way, easter is coming up...hehe...

Yes, as most of you have mentioned Rush was EVS, and its not the same since he has left.. and since he's gone I just dont feel confident in EVS being able to satisfy the needs of you guys, so I have made a hard decision to pre-emptively drop EVS as our goto guys. EVS is a great place, with great people, and im sure they will be just fine without us.

But, Im glad to announce that Abel Cine has picked up the puck to become our premier partner to DVXuser.com, We are putting together the Dvxuser discount structure etc. but starting now you can contact Jerrod at Abel ( jerrod@abelcine.com ) and he will take care of everyone with a special DVXuser Discount. Abel is on both coasts, and the new huge facility in Burbank is pretty incredible... and service always has been top notch.

Also, we have many other great partners as well, Places like Specialized Communication, ProMedia, DFG, etc all being active on the boards here helping people out.

That's cool Jared....

I'd also like to say thanks to you Rush. You helped me figure out quite a few purchases and have been a great person and fundamental reason that this site is so cool. You went above and beyond and I wasn't even buying from you. You are a mench... a warrior and a good person, bro. I wish you the best in what you are about to do.. and I can see by the people that have responded, that you were the big reason for EVS and that giganticly long pre-order list...

I did what you have done to make my movie... and although it was tough financially to give up the work for clients.. the artistic, personal.. spiritual rewards from doing what you really want too.. dream off.. and are compelled to do pays off 1000 times more.

When you are a filmmaker and artist ya have to follow that passion. I'm also glad that you'll be around more as you are indeed an Oracle like in the Matrix.

Do you also make cookies like her? Thanks for being the coolest and good luck with everything!

I am beyond words, Justyn. Thank you. You and the other DVXusers here have been very kind, and have made this the most positive big move of my life. :)

Well if you decide to go back into selling for a day job, go to Abel -- if Abel's our new DVXUser hookup, it would be most awesome to have Rush at Abel -- that would rule!
(and Jarred, congrats on getting Abel! Abel is a fantastic dealer, and with stores on both coasts, it's more convenient for our DVXUsers. Now we'll just have to remember to separate Jerrod from Jarred...)

Thanks Unix! :)

I think I'm done sellin' for a while Barry... It's nice just being a filmmaker and teacher again :2vrolijk_08:

dude, its always great to hear someone go gung ho on what they want to do. Congrats on the gig man and i'll be waiting to see you in IMDB with a long list under your name. :costumed-smiley-047

Good luck Rush. Wow, I walked into EVS on the 10th and days later you are gone. I'm glad I did business with you before you left. I'm learning the camera day by day. Thanks again and I will see you at the Oscars!

Well Rush,
I met you way back in the early days of DVXuser. I wanted to say thanx for all the excellent service you had provided to myself and the other fellow Canucks.
You guided me with some very expensive decisions that have paid back handily.
If you need anything you let me know.

Best to your future, I'm sure you will blow us all away with your skills and enthusiasm for this dynamically changing industry.

You will be missed....if your going to NAB a few beers are on me.

Thanks Ernest! :) It was a pleasure meeting you. Taylor, thank you, I enjoyed our phone conversations. There is nothing I'd rather do than work out lighting charts or help people with difficult decisions. I may be taking you up on that beer.
Slinks, yo! :Drogar-BigGrin(DBG)

Wow Rush! I'm crushed! I always bragged to people around here that I gotta guy who really is an amazing credit to his work and goes the extra mile to get the deal done. I'm gonna miss you not being at EVS when I call, you won't be easily replaced.

At the same time, you have to follow your dreams and to that end I say congrats! You will never regret chasing your passions.

Best of everything to you!

Hey Rush:

Thanks for all your help and guidance. I wish you all the best and much success in your new pursuits.

God Bless,

Ray
