DVXuser's Rush no longer at EVS

Thanks guys I really appreciate it! :) It is gonna be an interesting transition, but the road is wide open now. I can take gigs any day and light sets to my heart's content. Talking tech to you all day and learning from all of you was the reason the job was worthwhile. At least I will still have that, here on the forums!

Man Rush. Good luck out there, Sometimes you have to do what you have to do. But You were the reason that I shoped at EVS and will miss your help ordering from there Well good luck and can't wait to see what you are doing..

If we do order from EVS who will be the one to talk to?? And will we still se some kind of discount for dvxusers

Wow Rush--big news. Good luck with your new gig, we'll all miss having a friend at EVS. But'll it'll be great having a friend working on.... :)

Thanks again everyone, I really appreciate everyone here, and I want you all to know, you made selling worthwhile! :) Don't know what I would have done without all you guys... And again, I will be on here every night (more free time now) and if anyone needs purchase advice, feel free to Private message me.

Rush

Ditto what everyone else said. Congrats on the gig, looking forward to hearing about it. Great meeting you the other day, and I'm glad you were still around when my HVX came in -- terrific service and advice.

Will miss having you at EVS, but hey, you'll be hanging out with us more here, so yay us! :)

Keep us posted on your shoot,

Stas

Congratulations, Aloha, and best wishes on your new future, Rush! Like everyone here, I only went to EVS because of the top notch service you always provided. It won't be the same without you there. I'm sad and happy at the same time.

I have to say though, it takes guts to break away from the day job and go for the dream (for those of us whose day jobs aren't our art that is), so I have that much more respect for you. One of these days soon I am going to follow suit, mortgage and bills be damned.

Glad to say I own a Rush-Era HVX200, destined to be a classic (if ever this gets on eBay, I am going to put that in the description: "Genuine HVX-200, purchased during last days of the Rush-Era")

I got a DVX100A from one of the last batches during the Rush-EVS era. I love my baby!

Thank you, Rush. The footage captured for my best friend's wedding last weekend is beautiful.

I'm glad to have met you on your last day at the shop (and my first), Rush! Looking forward to hearing more about your project when the communication blackout is lifted.

Rush is an amazing individual. Always went out of his way to help me and bent over backwards several times to get me what I needed. Add me to the long list of people sorry to see you leave EVS...

Thanks guys, stas, oz, sparkle, dc, and haakon! It does feel super weird not to be part of an organization anymore, but like Oz said, gotta go for that dream somehow someway :)

I feel comfortable that a producer (to be revealed when the comm blackout lifts:laugh:) on another project I am working on is a stellar man with many credits to his name, loved by many, feared by some, with a panache for marketing and distribution. That project runs concurrently with this one, and hopefully both will succeed. His bravery and morale boosting could launch another 100 projects. All the while, I intend to have as much fun as possible doing it :2vrolijk_08:

DP/Director, DP'ing one thing, directing another. I found a couple of talented actors I am working with. I just make things right for them, give them freedom, and watch them go for it. :)

Hey Rush, I've got a little secret for you. Based on my purchasing experience when you were at EVS, you never actually sold anything - you simply serviced. The sale(s) flowed naturally from that.

Hopefully EVS will designate someone to rep them on these boards that will take a similar approach.

Cheers, and best of luck.

Ramzi is my go2guy. Good luck Rush!
Thanks edweirdo, and yes, Ramzi is da bomb; he is also a great friend. I am sad to not be working with him daily anymore. But his movie might also take off (He just sumitted to Cannes), and we may find our paths crossing again soon :)
