Dvxusers Only! SmallHD Special Group Pricing

hmm i asked about the group pricing a few weeks ago, and they told me they didn't offer it anymore, then i go and buy it, and now they offer it again?....

When the DP6 was first introduced, we dropped the ball on getting the colors more accurate. There is no inherent problem with the DP6 design. It was a firmware issue. This has been corrected in the most recent firmware updates. However, we intent to provide more color options in future releases. Tvlogic does use the same panel. They have chosen a cooler look at start-up which some people prefer. The image on the DP6 and the TVL both "cool" as they heat up. It is just the nature of this LCD. The DP6 takes longer to warm up, since it consumes about half the power. We are continuing to study the issue and have purchased a $20k analyser so that all the guess work has been removed. We can provide the same look as the TLV, if that is what our customers request. The good news is that we have the ability to continue to improve the DP6 over time via firmware updates. If anyone has any questions or concerns, please contact smallhd support (support@smallhd.com). If you have a DP6 make sure you are on the latest firmware. see our Support page for details.

Contact our Support team (support@smallhd.com). If you qualify for the discount as per the stated rules, we will refund the difference on your purchase. Sometimes we do not do the best job keeping everyone informed about changes. That was my fault. Sorry about that.

Did someone saw the DP4 in NAB ? It had the same tint "problem" like DP6 ?

I heard that Small HD was at NAB but I was there and couldn't find them. They weren't on the roster, nor were they listed in the late sign-up roster. I was kind of bummed because I wanted to see the DP6 up close.

I didn't go - but I think I remember from the invite that they sent that they had a suite rather than a booth on the actual show floor. I imagine the cost of a booth at NAB is quite high.

I am so happy to see that the deal has been extended.

I have a couple small sized monitors for my cameras and non seem to satisfy my needs...either they are too flimsy, the picture quality is weak or they are a beast like my Panasonic BT-L series monitor.

After doing some research, the DP6 seems like the one for me...plus got to love a manufacturer that will answer your questions in a jiffy...even via Twitter. How cool is that?

For those who already have the monitor, how well does the focus in white feature work? How well does it work compared to the AF100? I know it is not exactly the same feature as the AF100, but is it as responsive as the AF100?

I find it to be very responsive, but like any focus assist you need to have enough light so that edges can be sharp and not just blended noise. You just get used to it and go to the light!!!

In my opinion, it works better than the focus in red built in, so I use it more and have it on one of my preset buttons, along with 1:1.

Alright great, thanks for the responses. I'm going to purchase one now.

Thanks. I decided to take the plunge and pick up the discounted package. Thanks for arranging and getting it extended. It's a lot for an on board monitor, but it sounds like it will be worth it.

This thread got me interested in buying DP-6. I wonder if frame crop guides are impremented in the current version of DP6 firmware?

Just got my DP-6 yesterday. It is actually my first on camera-LCD. I shot all of the video tutorials for Flanders-Scientific monitors for their website and really thought when the day came to get one, it would be one of those...

But the DP-6 is the one I finally invested in. I did some testing with it yesterday, and found myself saying "WOW" to myself quite a few times.

Really digging it basically...

Sorry if this is a bit off topic but there seems to be a lot of DP6 talk here. Finally getting around to updating my DP6 and I'm wondering how long the monitor hangs on the "verifying". The monitor LED is currently blinking red/green and screen has said verifying for about half hour now. The site says if it hangs on "verifying" you can power down even though the screen still says not to and the firmware will take. I'm wondering how long I should wait? My buddy Brian let his go overnight and it was still stuck on "verifying" in the morning.

PLEASE HELP
