Unfortunately our beloved Cat Bing Passed away this morning. Bing brought me joy every single day and will surely be missed. I considered him an important part of DVxuser.com because he would lie ontop of the monitor for many hours overseeing the development and day to day activities that went on here.

We miss you already Bing!

My deepest sympathies.

Pets aren't as much pets as they are friends, and I've lost several friends over the years. I'm very sorry to hear about Bing. You'll always have your memories of his friendship and you'll see him again one day in the very distant future.

I can appreciate and sympathize. We all love our pets. He looked like a handsome family memeber.. My condolescences Did I spell that right??

Very sorry for your loss. Such a difficult thing to deal with. Especially when it's a wonderful companion.

Yeah, Jarred sorry to hear of your loss. Bing looked like a cool cat... literally.

The dark outline around his pink nose is so cute.

I love cats and have a 4 year old male tabby named Bartholomew who is my buddy.

Hi Jared,

You don't know me ... I'm a DVXuser lurker, but I wanted to post for the first time and say that I'm so, so sorry for your loss. I have two cats that are my best friends too. I work from home and they spend every day with me, hanging out on my monitors, curling up on my lap, begging me to take a cuddle break. I can't imagine how devistating it would be to lose one. Recently, one of them got a cancerous tumor on her tail and it had to be amputated. I was a total mess while I waited to get the lab results to see how serious the cancer was. Luckly, it was low-grade and removed with the amputation, but it made me understand that I care for them more then I ever realized. I know where you're coming from ...

Anyway, spend some time remembering Bing, but don't get too sad. The good news is ... when you're ready, you now have an excuse to go to down the shelter and pick out a new kitty and start the journey again!

Thanks Nick. Sounds like you know exactly how it feels to have a co-working cat :)

Completely devistating to be without. Luckily he died a painless death in good hands at the Animal Hospital, he had a sudden infection that just got the best of him. It was nice to go to the Vet and spend some time with him after he passed, I think that helped tremendously with my gried this morning.

You are right, we are definately getting a new kitty, I just dont know how long we are supposed to wait.

I appreciate you talking the time to make this your first post, it means alot to me.

I was never a cat person. When my wife and I got our cat at a shelter I told her I got to name him, and I didn't want a snobby cat, but a cat that would hang with us. Little did I know. Kimba (named after the cartoon. That tells you how old I am) lies on us while watching TV and sleeps with us every night. I can't imagine him not around. I'm very sorry for your lost.

Sorry to hear about your buddy. I lost my buddy (a dog) last year. It is good to hear yours didn't have a painful or long drawn out death. Sounds like he died with dignity. I can relate. Just remember that pets are wonderful and the opportunity to enjoy another one is just around the corner, when you are ready. Your cat would have wanted it that way.

I can sympathize.  An animal I was very close to passed away yesterday.  An awsome 13 yr. old golden retriever.  A great mellow dog.  He will be missed. As will Bing.

Out of curiosity, was it a Urinary Tract Infection that got Bing?

I know that male cats, in particular, are prone to such. My male cat had one which required an emergency surgery to save his life about 18 months ago.

The main thing I've learned from that incident is to not let my cat get dehydrated. It happens rather easily with cats.

I've also suspected the extremely calcified tap water where I live.

Since then, my cat drinks bottled water only and he loves it.

No more dried calcium stains all over his water bowl which I interpret as a lesser chance for health problems.

3 1/2...my condolences.

I lost Merlin, a beautiful Sheltie, two years ago to a kidney infection; he was only 4.  I know how you must feel.

yes indeed.. kidney infection is what got him.
