Re: DVXuser Interview with Nancy Schreiber

Very nice interview.

I somehow got the feeling reading this, that *someone* was out to prove that DV (maybe even the DVX100) was capable enough in the right hands to move viewers to vote November into the winners circle. I do wish the question "Why use DV instead of HD or film" would have been asked, but well enough that the DVX100 was from the getgo the DV camera of choice.

I wish I could have seen the screening, but will for sure see movie.

Thanks to Nancy for sharing with us DVXUsers.

Re: DVXuser Interview with Nancy Schreiber

Thanks so much for getting an interview with her! That was a great read. Do you know if she uprezed november prior to going to film? She mentions about it being hard to see her work on SD but yet she said she would consider using the camera again. I'm trying to interpret this.

Any input would be great,

Re: DVXuser Interview with Nancy Schreiber

i could be wrong here, but i dont think nancy would be incredibly too thrilled to have to work with the dvx again from the sound of her response, cause it means working low budget, but for someone whos used to 35mm -theres certainly no shame, or respect lost for the dvx in that. it sounded like she would choose the camera over any other similar price point cam  for sure if she had to work with a cam in the price point again to begin with. but it seemed as if she would rather stick with the 35mm or hd when possible. and who wouldnt.

..and why am i being thanked?

Re: DVXuser Interview with Nancy Schreiber

Nancy is a skilled celluloid DP.. as most film DP's if they had the option (i.e. unlimited budget, unlimited time, etd) they would continue to shoot on Film, for features. She told me that she still prefers film, but was surprised how well this camera performed.

Re: DVXuser Interview with Nancy Schreiber

This interview was very inspiring. Not because it gave any groundbreaking technical tips, etc, but because it gives us more "ammo" to use in the digital vs film issue, and justify the use of dv as a viable tool for filmmaking.

"Oh yeah? This camera was used to win the cinematography award at Sundance!" 8)
