so i just got dvx100b and have been tooling around with it a little bit and still have a few questions.
1) does anyone know how to film black and white is there a certain setting to goto?
2) is there a way to slow/fast crank its to make it look slowmo or really fast. or another wa to do time lapses?
3) what do you suggest i set like detail level color temp chroma phase and all that stuff to? should i just change them every time i am about to film or what is a good number to keep all those setting at?

thanks for the help!

1) you can't
2a) you can't, directly, but you can simulate it a bit. Search around for discussions, or look for the tutorial on The DVX DVD.
2b) the DVX100b can't do time-lapse. The 100A and 100 could, the 100B can't.
3) there is no "one setting for all occasions". I mean, if there was, they woulda just set it on that, right? :) Each setting has its purpose and certain circumstances when it's appropriate to change them.

If you are looking for a baseline, check out Andy Starbuck's sticky on "Getting the Right Image." It give a great place to start. Then move on to Barry's book.
