I just got my DVX100b a few days ago and I was experiencing the exact same situation as the good chap with the initial problem (and yes, i was shooting in squeeze mode 24p, 24pa, and 30p). My initial reaction was, "Shoot. Those dvxuser guys led me astray by hyping up the camera." Turns out that the heads came dirty and for some reason the problem became really apparent when shooting in squeeze mode (although I wouldn't call it interlacing by any stretch; these lines were huge and not the width of a pixel as interlacing problems should be).
A few seconds with a dry head cleaner took care of most of the problem (I'm away from my main system so I can't be sure until I get home and run my test footage through it) although I did note the manual reads that the camera converts the images from 24p and 24pa to 60i.
