You for sure mean 1/25  - as we live in PAL countries(I share this with 75 % of the world population.

Hi mine,

No, I know you're in PAL territory. I meant 1/30th, because 1/25th would mean you had no shutter whatsoever and the resulting video would probably be way too blurry. You can choose 1/30th by using the synchro-scan menu. Lots of NTSC users have mentioned getting satisfactory results with 1/36th -- kind of a compromise between 1/24th (no shutter) and 1/50th (default). So try using 1/30th or 1/36th and make a progressive PAL DVD and plug it in to your TV through DVI. I suspect that you will be thrilled with the results.

barry--great tip on the 1/36th for NTSC users: I'm going to try it out when I get home! :)

I dont know how many of u have seen these grabs and clips (I am sure many would have), but i saw them for the first time. May be of interest...some good illustrations of motion blur on pans..in the NTSC version. In fact not quite dis-similar to what we are talking about in the 100 PAL.

I posted a new topic dedicated to audio delay in live mode, with a poll...

Re: DVX100AE flaws/problems (same as in DVX100)!

[Only an idea but perhaps it's some sort of problem with some sort of "progressive scan" or "100Hz" technology that's being built in most modern TVs here in PAL land...
I tend to agree with this theory. I just bought my dvx 100ae and was most horrified to see the jaggies as i panned however slowly. The local Pani engineer was present and said it wasn't any manufacturing defect but that if you record 25P, you need to be / have progressive down the line....meaning, the television monitor or projector all have to be progressive. sigh!...
