DVX100A Vs DVX 100

Hey all, I would like to know what the main differences are between the two pre-said models. I have an opportunity to purchase the original model at a sub-grand price, and just want to make sure its not a stupid idea.

Does it have the same resolution as the A model? how bout the image manipulations? what are they key differences? I wont be shooting much if any dialog, mostly just skiing, mountain biking and time laps shots.

I'm in kind of a hurry so any help would be immensly appreciated.

the macro is a bit different, you cant get focus on things too close to the camera

Lets say that it were my only option other then an XL1s.

If the choice is between and XL1s and the original DVX100, I'd go with the DVX 10 times out of 10.
