The DVX100a, as of Today the 15th, is available to Canadian resellers.. I assume that means you can get one up here within a few days.

would a canadian model be able to be serviced in the states if I bought one from up there? (warranty)

Canada and US actually recieve the same product and same warranty.. at least that's what I have been told, the A may be different.

I gave Vistek a call up there, and the guy said they (Panasonic) aren't going to be able to hit the projected date of today there... he (guessing i'm assuming) said January.... :'(

yes I guess the fact they can order it now doesn't necessarily mean they can actually deliver it yet... mmm I will make a couple calls.
