Dvx100a recording problem

I recently got a Dvx not too long ago, worked fine and everything and has low hours. But for some reason today when I was filming within 5 to 10 minutes of recording it says "end" on the top left in red letters and it won't let me record. I had 56 minutes or so on the tape but I put a new tape into it and the same thing happened within 5 minutes. Should I try a head cleaner or is it something more serious for that to fix? I'm pretty new to this camera so I'm not sure how big this issue is.

Has it recorded properly in the past, or is this the first time you have used it?
Try the reset button (next to the Shutter speed buttons when you open the LCD) to set the camera back to it's defaults.
I had a box of DV tapes that had to run to the end (fast forwarded) and rewound because the tape pack was too tight on the spool. Worked fine after that. Not saying you have a tape problem, just mentioning the occasional manufacturing glitches with any tape format.

I tried hitting the reset button, right now I'm letting it just record with the lens cap on for about 10 minutes or so just to see if the problem will occur again. Do you think I'd need a panasonic cleaning tape? When I bought it off the person he used a jvc I think and I went to panasonic afterwards. I thought that may be the problem as well. But if it still continues I'll try to fast forward the tape to loosen it up. But yeah to answer your question earlier this is the first time I had this done. I'm not sure if this happened in the past with the previous owner.

No, a cleaning tape sometimes helps when you see digital artifacts caused by dirty heads. You have no such symptoms, which makes me think you might have some sort of tape transport problem...caused by camera or tape.
Please let us know how the recording works out.

The problem still happened, the only way I got through the day was pressing the reset button unfortunately.

You had to keep pressing the reset button numerous times (after each failure) to get it to record for a short while?
Sounds like a tape transport problem. Can you play back a recorded tape in it's entirety in the camera?

Bonksz,
Did you ever determine the actual cause of the problem you inquired about last month?
