Ok so im having a hard time finding the differences between a dvx100a and a dvx100b.

im going to be using this camera for filming skateboarding, short films, and a lot of time lapse's. if someone could tell me which camera would suit me better and why id higly appreciate it.

Thanks Zen,

The DVX-100B is the newer model, replacing the 100A. They improved a few features, but sacrificed a few others. In all, it's what you can afford (100A used, 100B new or used). Both fine cameras, both will do you fine if you know how to use them.

Though... I do think that time lapse had to go with the 100B because of modifications around the flip-out v/f and the tape transport. Anyone else able to verify that?

I just picked up a 100B about 3 weeks ago. I'm blown away by this camera as i was upgrading from the GL2. I was bummed to find out that there wasn't a interval recording (time lapse). I plan on just recording for a full tape and then speeding it up in post.
The OIS works pretty well on the 100B. that would be a plus for filming action shots.

I know nothing about the 100A... keep that in mind.

Im pretty sure the 100B doesnt have time lapse. Ive read around thats the case. I know my DVX100A has time lapse though.
