Re: DVX100A footage

That was awesome! Just for fun? That was such a neat piece watch. The score was epic. Tell me who that music is please! I loved it.

Man the DVX looks great under the right lighting. That was a nicely done little reel considering you were just screwing around.

What was that a shoe commerical? Gatorade?

Nice work! and please who is that music!?

Re: DVX100A footage

Hey Ozan,
Great to have you back...footage looks great love the boxing stuff. Who was the shoot for Olympics stuff?
How were they doing the sparks?

Hey weren't you making some DIY gear for the DVX?

Re: DVX100A footage

The camerawork was just wow...did you use a jib or steadicam or both or neither? Gorgeous and amazingly fluid. I want to know how to do that.

Also, how did you pull off such clean darks? My dvx is ridiculously noisy unless I flood the room with light (and even then sometimes it's noisy, too....)

Re: DVX100A footage

Jib arm, steadycam.... naaaa! I only use a tripod for couple of the shots. The moving shots is me strifing from left to right. The commerical was for panasonic for the Olympics. The commerical is going be 70% all CG though! I was there just chilling and eating all the caterring food. I then i got bored and filmed! Glad i brought my camera. HEHE! My friend was directing "Neill" guy in the blue shirt!

I Cant remember wat i used cause for the music i rushed it to quickly! Form the top of my head i think the song was called "moxica and the horse" by vangelis... i'll check for you.

The sparks came from a power tool grinding at some metal.

Re: DVX100A footage

"Ahh gotta love beautiful footage...NICE WORK!"
;D

Re: DVX100A footage

very very nice. maybe the best footage i ever saw from a DVX (lightwise etc).
i think they could even cut a 30 sec-spot out of this alone....well done.

Re: DVX100A footage

Damned nice indeed. I thought I was the only guy in the world who has that soundtrack CD! It's Vangelis and from the movie "1492 Conquest of Paradise"

Re: DVX100A footage

Yep, that was Vangelis alrighty. And damn, that was a cool little shoot. I wish I had the 100a. That squeeze mode saves a lot of money when you want things to have an anamorphic aspect on it.
Would love to know the settings you used here. Footage looked fantastic.

Re: DVX100A footage

*Sigh*

Beautiful. I suck. :)

There are lots of elements which make this random clip interesting:

o the set, I want one of these!

o opening smoke sequence

o the models were all interesting. I especially liked the doctors with cool sunglasses. Also, the models knew how to pose. Check out the heroic stances of the fencers before they do their thing.

o The welding arc (or whatever it is that is creating that). Really adds something to it, although it is of course completely nonsensical.

Then on to some of the more subtle elements, such as nice camera movement, even if it is handheld. You made good choices here.

And nice shots with lighting behind the subjects. Made for interesting changeups to 'Rembrandt lighting' subjects.

Transitions were good, cuts were good. Were the blurs in camera, or post?

And how can you lose with Vangelis?

You really mixed it up nicely, eye candy all around. What was your job on set? Craft table? :)

Re: DVX100A footage

One thing I love about random sparks is how beautifully they bloom when they are very out of focus. Watch the end of the Matrix and you'll see what i mean. They're so pretty, especially when heavily blurred, that you can't blame anyone for using them, even if they're pointless.

Re: DVX100A footage

Yea... my friend saw the footage! His exact words were "jesus f*ck"! I filmed using my 16:9 lens. I filmed a total of 22miinutes and have alot of other goood shots! I just quickly selected clips and added music... didnt want to spend to much time on it!!!! Was just something for fun!

I'll post the rest of the footage later...
