Hello incredible citizens of this great forum, I have a question.
I have searched briefly and can't seem to find a similar thread. However, if this is a repeat question, I apologize.
I am helping to edit what I hope to be a feature length documentary slated for submission to Sundance. The footage was shot on two DVX100a's in 24pa mode. We are editing on FCP 5. My questions are the following: Sundance can project digitally, however it has only projected HD in the past. Is there a way to uprez the SD footage to HD? If so, is this cheaper than a blowup to film (I would imagine so)? Additionally, if we were to eventually blow this up to film, what are the limits as to what we can do digitally while editing? What I mean is, can we color correct and add titles, filters, gradients, etc. to the SD DVX footage in FCP and not have problems with it in converting it to film or HD? I've heard it is a bad idea to color correct footage before blowing it up.
Pardon my ignorance and lack of technical savvy in this area, but any help/advice is very much appreciated.
JC
