My roomate just directed a 1.5 million dollar film up in Canada and when I saw the behind the scenes footage, I was blown away. It was obviously a 24P camera, I just couldn't tell which one. Since I had just done a feature with one and was not happy with the night time stuff (looked too "video-ish for me) I assumed this stuff I was watching was probably the XL2 or something as it looked incredible and it was all filmed at night.
My roomamte said he was told what the camera was and it wasn't an XL2. So when I said "DVX100"?. He nodded, "yeah, that was it".
All I can say is wow. Using the professional lighting on the set with that camera produced amazing results. I'll try and get captures if I can. Put me back in the DVX camp again after my own disapointing lighting set up with my film.
