i read somewhere that a third party figured out how to dump raw hd footage from the dvx onto a hardrive

how do you do this
 
It's called andromeda. It was a mod you had to get installed my a guy named Juan. As far as I know it would bypass any of the compression and output raw sensor data straight from the sensor via USB. There are still a bunch of them kicking around and go up for sale on here from time to time. If you do a search on here you will find a whole bunch of threads on the subject. I would post some links but im much to lazy.
 
the aftermarket fix!!!
its a mac thing or was andromida!!!!! nice makes cense!!! its an investment! bypassing the tape drive and compression for soem large files !! it was mac only for a while!!
 
Is it still a mac thing? I have one in the basement haven't used it in awhile (few years, lol) and I'm not much of a Mac user these days.
