DVX Recording Problems

Ok so on my dvx100p while i am in between recording clips,aka standby, every so often the green standby abbreviation will disappear and so when i go to push record nothing happens. I have to go to tape mode then back to camera to fix this. I have lost many skateboard tricks cause of this problem and my skaters are getting pissed. Any help is much appreciated

Well after a few minutes of it saying the green pause, it will go into white standby but if it is not recording, then there is a problem. Is your footage looking bad on the recorded parts? Is the timecode still running while you are recording? I would recommend at least temporarily using a capture camera as a slave unit using a 4 pin to 4 pin firewire cable.
