DVX Head cleaning Q

Hey all,
I read the sticky but the pictures no longer appear to be working. Can anyone explain what is meant by "cleaning the heads in a horizontal fashion vs. a vertical fashion". I'm thinking horizontally means along with the rotation of the drum, vs perpendicular to the direction it spins, but can anyone help me out? Also does anyone know if B&H does head cleanings and about what it costs? I'm located in manhattan. Thanks!
 
Always clean video heads horizontally! Moving up and down can break the head or at the very least weaken its attatchment to the arm its attached to. Use plenty of cleaning solution and be gentle. Like Joe suggests, a pro-technician can do a better and more complete job than you can.
