Hey I shot a feature last year on the DVX that just got picked up by Think Films and is finally getting released.. reviews are starting to come out and its pretty funny.. like check this one out:

http://slasherpool.starbase.se/htm/reviews/sleepovernightmare.htm

" The directing is rather good and the movie's
shot on 35mm which definitely helped it get away
from the low budget cheese feeling that most DTV
slasher flicks have these days. "

I love it when the DVX kicks ass.

Re: DVX fools them again for 35mm.

That's great; is there a trailer we can check out on it.

Re: DVX fools them again for 35mm.

there is a trailer, but think owns it now so we need to wait for them to release it.

Certainly in the right hands it will. Congrats big Jarred! What was your title anyway?

Re: DVX fools them again for 35mm.

no anamorphic adapter.. I refuse to use it. I was CO-DP, Camera Operator, Editor and helped with the producers... Pretty much had my hands in alot of it, one of those great productions that i wish every production could be. Boon Collins the director, is one of the greatest men I have worked with to date, and the sucess of the movie is pretty much because of him.

Re: DVX fools them again for 35mm.

That's really cool Jarred. I didn't know we had so many horror buffs on the board. DvPixl, the Evil Dead Trilogy rules! "Who's laughing now!!??" ;D

Re: DVX fools them again for 35mm.

Horror is where it's at.

Release date is in June, we are actually just finishing off some extras for the DVD so its gonna be a great disc. Think is behind the movie completely so it should do well... look for it in your town!

Re: DVX fools them again for 35mm.

Think films? that's a huge domestic distribution company how the hell did you score that deal? are you going to sell copies here? Would be really cool to get a signed copy.

Re: DVX fools them again for 35mm.

Don't look at me.. Ben Gruberg and Boon Collins did that leg work.. experienced Producers with alot of Juice got it done. It's been alot of work for them but it looks like it is finally paying off.

Not likely to sell them off the site as that would violate the distribution agreement.

You don't want my chicken scratch ruining your DVD anyways :)

Half naked teens dead in a cabin. You put that on the DVD case and it will sell a million copies just from that image. Why can't I get hired to work on bikini horrors? must of been hard work Jarred.

What was the budget?

Re: DVX fools them again for 35mm.

DVX passing for 35mm - manOman, more great news!
Jarred, has anyone tried to figure out what the feature would have cost had it really been shot on 35? I'd love to see the numbers.

Re: DVX fools them again for 35mm.

Hey Jarred - if you didn't use the anamorphic, how did you pull off high quality 16:9 - I assume you did to 16:9..??

Re: DVX fools them again for 35mm.

Alot of money in post :) :P

That got me thinking about a little section on this site that could be a little distribution or mini-store for people who want to sell their DVD's (besides the Market Place thread) Is that possible or probably too much backend stuff required? there a hundred other places to post final movies but would be cool (since the community here is large enough) to pull resources together and get an online store where we can buy each others movies...

maybe that will be a separate site?

Re: DVX fools them again for 35mm.

Still, even with a lot of money in post you can only do so much. What did you guys do in post?

Re: DVX fools them again for 35mm.

Ya! Stop teasing and give us some details on how you did it in post. Unless you dont want to spoil it if it becomes part of the "making of" section of the DVD.

And do tell us when the trailer will be available. As well as the link to purchase the DVD when it gets released.
