Great looking trailer, good luck in LI. I had someything play there and they do a nice job of it. I commend you for doing a feature on such a low budget. You shot the whole film on the DVX? Good luck!

Yes, we shot the entire thing on the DVX... Thanks for the kind words. We really appreciate it! I really can't wait! They said they have a nice Panasonic projector so I'm excited to see how it comes out.

hahaha I dont think they'll ask for a Q&A.. i think you only get that if you won an award like best screenplay or best feature. but a Q&A would be pretty cool... haha I wonder how it'll look though... since my exhibition copy is a Mini-DV tape....

Good stuff! What did you use to edit?
We edited on Sony Vegas. All the special effects were done in Vegas as well as the color correcting and sound mixing. I used Vegas for everything aside from one or two shots where we had to create stuff in Photoshop.

We did a Q&A and we didn't win, so be ready, lol. It'll look great as we used Mini-DV also...
Wow... great... now I have to prepare for that as well.. just in case! As if I'm not nervous enough! What happened? Chris or whoever was hosting just said, "Ok, let's do a Q&A," and you went up? Must prepare... lol.
Great! That's going to be awesome. I can't wait to see Mini-DV projected. This is going to be a fun night!

Thanks!

Can anybody give me any tips on getting this to play? I've tried multiple browsers, but it stops playing about 15 seconds in or so. It does the same thing from Explorer and Safari. Stutters then stops. I've watched the first 15 seconds and I'm more intrigued than ever. :) Might be a good marketing ploy to use in the future. :)

The projector accepts multiple formats? (DVD, MiniDV, etc.)

I dont know anything about projectors but I can say this...
the exhibition formats are 35mm,16mm, betaSP, and Mini DV... i think that's all... no DVD...

Holy crap!

Nice job.

Thanks. We pretty much shot this "Mariachi Style." If you think about it, it makes sense. Free access to a location, non-paid actors, I own all of the equipment, I was the entire crew along with my producer, and the only thing I had to buy was props and food and I ODed on food so that brought the price up. So less than $1500 makes sense... It was probably something like $900 but I was being generous just in case I forgot something...

Novelt... the DVD copy is anamorphic... 16:9... we shot 4:3 and I stretched in post... but the Mini DV copy obviously can't be anamorphic or it will look stretched... so the Mini Dv copy is 4:3 with black bars.

Thanks!

very nice...is it anamorphic? or is my media player just not playing it right?

Sorry I misunderstood what you wrote. The trailer on the website is anamorphic, not 4:3 cropped. It's 16:9 anamorphic. I've heard Macs don't play it correctly. Are you using a Mac?

Thanks,

Thanks Paul that did the trick. I have to say that I honestly would be interested in seeing the movie. When you're posting on a site with the kind of people that are here (techies, pro's, etc. ) it's easy to find problems or elements that each person might want to do better. But all in all, I think it piques the mind and makes you want to see more.

It's even more impressive given your time frame and budget. Most often distributors and the audience don't care about that. They only care if the movies good, but for that kind of budget you might get some exceptions. :)

Hahah thank you. I don't know... if the movie sucks, no one will care what limitations there were... but if they love it, the limitations will be talked about. That's for any movie probably.

But thanks for your kind words and interest. Hopefully people enjoy it!

thanks for that...i might need to fix something on my end. things looked squished so i knew it wasn't right :) i do have a PC though and i kinda remember having to change some setting in media player. it was awhile back, but i did it on my other computer (video editing PC) because i had anamorphic footage that wasn't playing right...hmmmm...i'm drawing a blank, but i'll get it. thanks though and again good job. as for DVDs if you're going to be selling/sending put me on a list.
