DVX Broadway Purchase

I bought my DVX at Broadway video... It came in a box and I'm almost postive it's not a gray market camera. Ideas, thougths? Anything to look forward with a Broadway DVX?

Well, does it come with the magicbullet software and the book ? If not, does it have the form asking you to register in order to get the software and book ??

What was the writing on your Box?
Of course you have the Manual and paper work thats included right?
All units do not come with free software or have paperwork to request the free stuff.

Broadway, and the rest of the Brooklyn sites, WILL send you a camera... but you have to buy thousands of dollars worth of "accessories". I'm curious, what did you buy WITH the camera and how much was the total?

(no matter what, I'm glad you got a camera!)

Yes, I am curious as well as to what they talked you into buying with the camera. Way back in the day, after I'd decided to go with a DVX-100 instead of a Canon XL-1, I started looking for a place to buy and came across Broadway Photo (through Amazon I believe). Anyways, it was just after tax season and I had a hefty refund from the government, so I called up Broadway to get the scoop and possibly order myself a cam. After what seemed like an eternity on the phone with a smooth talking salesman, I had ordered an AG DVX-100 (at an unbelievably good price), and a plethora of crappy accessories that were overpriced and not needed... but still I felt good about it because the camera was such a good deal. So there I was, expecting almost $5000 charge to my credit card, and looking forward to my camera with the uber-ultimate worldwide warranty that only cost, like, 5 or 600 bucks, a bunch of crappy filters, and a bunch of other junk I can't even remember now. Anyways, long story short. A couple days after I placed my order, I ran across this amazing website called dvxuser.com and I started reading up on my new camcorder and then I found the thread about authorized dealers and my heart sank. It was then that I knew I'd been suckered into an unbelievably crappy deal, but alas! the gods intervened and the next day I received an email from Broadway saying that my card had been declined because the shipping address was different from my billing address. What luck! I emailed them back telling them to piss off and that was the end of that whole fiasco. Now, I stick with B&H and EVS. I wish you the best of luck platinumseagulls! What accessories did those bastards try talking you into? Do tell...

Cheers,
Mikey

...and another bullet is dodged.

From what I've read here you were fortunate, spooky.

Platinumseagulls, I echo the others. What exactly DID you order with your cam?

sincerely,

ian
