Ah man, missed it! I'm a new user, about 2 months now. maybe next time unless you guys end up putting out that dvd....
 
Looks like there is plenty of interest in having the LA DVX Bootcamp. Hope this is going to happen on 7/30. Already put it on my calender in INK and you know the rules. Once something is on a calendar in INK it has to happen.
 
Out of curiosity, if you guys could pick that ONE burning thing you really want to know more about (thinking of the DVX BC here), what would it be? It'll be interesting to see the variety, I'd think.

I'm looking from the aspects of an absolute beginner on this camera. From start up through menus to monitoring sound levels and all the rest. Bootcamp to me should be like a military bootcamp (No, I don't want Jarred in my face yelling "I can't here you!") But in military bootcamp (basic training) you start with the very basics and work your way up.

I want to start with some very basic elementary stuff and move on up from there to some advanced techniques.

And like I said, this is marked in INK on my caledar so I'm hoping this is going to happen in LA area on July 30th.

Jarred has got some of us all hot and bothered so he better put out!

And Jarred, if you bring some batteries I'll buy one of those as well.

i won't be at the l.a. bootcamp, but hopefully i'll make it to a future one. assuming that happens, i want to see how you guys in the know are getting the best possible 'film look'. maybe a little cliché of a request, but after all that's why i bought my dvx!
 
the DVX bootcamp is most likely going to be cheaper, around the $189 mark, since you dont get barry's book.

There were no details listed about location here in this forum or on the page where you click to sign up so I'm assuming it will be at Abel Cine Tech in Burbank since this is where the HVX Bootcamp on the 29th is going to be. Is this correct?

Assume we need to bring all our gear, camera, tripod, mike, etc. Anything else? Are you going to have batteries for sale?
 
Yes we havnt locked Abel 100% but verbally it is a go.. we will let you know if that changes.

You dont need to bring all your stuff.. just bring your camera so you can hold it in your lap as we go over the menus etc so you can follow along. We use a 10' projector though so if you dont have your camera your not screwed.

Of crouse if you have something really cool and want to show it.. bring it, cause we all turn into giddy little school girls when someone pulls out some really cool gear.

ha ha ha.. sorry guys dont know what happened.. but maybe there was a glitch when he moved across the country... are you guys talking about the one that comes with camera or did you order it from here?
 
batteries or dvd? if its the dvd, then yes the one that came w/the camera is what im looking for. i have barrys book but need that dvd. mine was sneakily borrowed from a random friend never to be returned the first week i had the camera. some friend - jerkoff (if your reading this, i want it back!!!)

Is there an age limit, because I'm 14 and I'm getting my DVX soon. I mentioned it to my parents and I found out that for some reason they wanted to go to LA anyways...

I'd really like to go.
