Ah the shame of it! Poor camera. I'm sure there was a lot of hand-holding after that embarassing incident.

supernova gamma radiation sparking mutation by allowing expression of million-year old ribonucleic acid viruses that change the shape of animal survival through selection

Maybe that's what happened to those 5-6' tall bipedal lizards with opposable fingers that died out long before that rock killed all them dinosaurs.

Also this thread put my mind to ease, thanks all.

That happened to me once. Had to buy another DVX from Rush after that one.

However, I have had no problems with X-ray (nor xray, for that matter). Went to Russia this year and they ran it through everything and a half. Strip-searched my camera, too.

My DVX was strip searched also. I felt violated.

in the film times (and some freak like me still does it) some people used to put 35mm films in their pockets to avoid them going through the x-ray and taking them through the magnetic scanner doors (the ones you walk through and beep if you have metal things).

This SHOULDN'T be done wiht magnetic DV video tapes! I haven't heard reports of damaged tapes like that, but it's safer to send them through x-ray.

Anyway, about 35mm films, don't leave them in you luggage (the one you check-in) since they shower them with much stronger x-ray doses.
