yesterday i went to the beach with some friends and had the greatest time...but i wanted to take my newly bought dvx but decided against it cuz i didnt want to possiblly ruin sumthing. in retrospect i really wish i had it. Anyhoo..what are some tips for protecting ur camera in those conditions. apart from compressed air ..what other things are a good idea?

I take a dry bag with me when I shoot at the beach. Attach the battery and insert the tape before you head outside. Keep the camera sealed in the dry bag for about 20 minutes once you get outside, until the camera comes up to temperature. This will keep condensation away from the lens and the inner workings.

Keep everything sealed and protected that you can, and be careful with sunscreen. I'd take along some makeup-removing towelettes to wipe down your hands well before you change tapes. But make sure you get the astringent, alcohol-based ones. Some have lotions and other things in them. I've found that Bioré makes the best. I also keep a box of those with me any tie that I'm shooting outdoors in hot weather. I find that if I wipe down my face and the back of my neck mid-day, I feel a lot better for the rest of the day.

i'd be woried about sand getting inside or in the lense. i know it's unlikley but sometimes sand gets in the screen of my phone and such without me even dropping my phone in the sand
