Hey guys i was wondering if someone can give me a link to a decent 35mm lens that fits the DVX. Now i dont want a professional one that costs a lot, but if they all do than thats ok. I just need a link. I appreciate it. Thanks!
theres no 35mm lens that fits the dvx. the dvx doent even have an interchangable lens. Neither is it a high end video cam that can put on cine lenses. the only way to get a 35mm STILL (manual control) lens on the dvx is with a 35mm adapter. the cost of these are upwards of $1500.00 then good lenses can range from $50 to $1000 or even more for Ziess lenses.
If u want wide angle or telephoto lenses which fit over the dxv lens and effectively make ur lens longer or shorter...then look into century optics. however these are NOT 35mm lenses.
Solid used 35mm adapter with nikon mount = $500-$1000.
Ebay nikon lenses = $20-$100 a piece for decent lenses.
Jambredz is correct for the most part about your options (although a bit harsh). Some are very knowledgeable about the technical side of things, some not... that's why we all come to these boards.
My bad if I sounded harsh. I'm a big fan of asking questions ( as I do ask a lot) and helping people out (especially newbies). The "caps" was me trying to make sure he/she got the point and not me shouting at them especially about the still manual photographic lenses.
Again, apologies if it sounded like I was snapping at you
...I def didn't wanna make it sound like that.
And these guys are right about the used adapter costs...I was quoting "new" prices.
Also hazzy...shooting with an adapter is another whole bag of worms, if you want to know more about it and the technology invloved jump over to the adapter section and check out the "sticky" ( yellow font at the top of the page) topics. I myself haven't shot with one but they introduce a lot of challenges. (Which people work around)
For lenses I duno if I'd go the ebay route as u may not get what u really think ur buying but that's just me. If u want a little more piece of mind of a little more $ (starting at about $40-50 for good glass)check out keh.com. They inspect the lenses and have a grading system. Again remember to get full manual lenes.
And yup Ryan, to learn is indeed why we come here...including myself
Couldn't agree more. I just sold off my SGpro to go with the Canon 7d. The adapter footage looks great, and I loved it... but it really is a beast to tackle, flip, light, carry, focus, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc... the list goes on and on.
