Well, I hope this got your attention.
I consider myself different, very different from most DVX users. I don't plan to shoot scripted material, material for profit, or build some sort of business around my camera.
I have been shooting video since 1999, and have done some crazy stuff.
But one of the craziest things I do (alot) is shoot video at 150+mph. The fastest I have been with a prosumer camera was 208mph. The fastest I have had one out a window was 175mph...
This was all with my VX2100, the greatest low-light camera under $3000
Well, now with my new toy, the DVX, I foresee me taking it up to speed as well. I like that the hood has holes in it, I think the wind will pass through it well, and not give me alot of travel.
Sound interesting yet?
I think alot of you guys like to shoot indie kinda stuff for schools and design firms, studios, etc. Me, I get my kicks hanging out in high horsepower cars driving all kinds of fast on every road possible, from drag strips to road courses to airstrips to NASCAR grade super ovals.
Has anyone else here taken a DVX to the EXTREME? Like in the wild, the desert, the artic, in a fire, or at speeds of more than 200mph exposed directly to the lens???
I think I am alone...
