Thanks.

Re:  DVRig PRo Review

Hi All,

In the DvRigPro. Manual, For quick change to tripod, we recommend using an extra base, Similar to the one supplied with the rig.

It is recommended to permanently attach the extra base to
your camera plate.

This link directs to the Manfrotto site. This is the European main site and has references to US bogen part numbers.

http://www.manfrotto.com/product/templates/templates.php3?sectionid=100&itemid=318

We also supply this extra base as an accessory for 20 $

Re:  DVRig PRo Review

I hate to disagree.. but if you have a 501 or 503 head you should swap the plate on the DVrig pro.. its a better solution instead of adding another qr bottom ontop of the head's qr bottom and top.

Re:  DVRig PRo Review

You are missing the point.

Only the plate we use on the DvRigPro. (Manfrotto 357) is long enough to allow easy sliding between LCD and VeiewFinder shoting.

I know you are not using the LCD but many users do.

Thanks for the icon.

that happens to me all the time :)

Re:  DVRig PRo Review

Re:  DVRig PRo Review

so the manfrotto 357 ( the plate that fits on the rig)will or will not fit on a 503 head?

I'm a little confused here.

" It is recommended to permanently attach the extra base to

....are you attaching it to the tripod head?

thanks in advance

Re:  DVRig PRo Review

Hi,

I'm a proud 100A owner that is not so proud of my shoulders--I've already had one shoulder surgery and I'm supposed to have another in the coming year, and I'm only 22--so I've obviously been searching for a good way to stop holding the camera in front of my body all the time. I've narrowed it down to two options--the DVRig Pro and the Tortlerig (http://www.16x9inc.com/easyrig/tortlerig.shtml). The Tortlerig works completely differently from the DVRig, and I'm wondering which is better for me--the Tortlerig has a free 7-day trial, does the DVRig Pro have anything similar? Does anyone have experience with both? Please let me know thoughts, opinions, etc. Thanks,

Ryan

Re:  DVRig PRo Review

riblsbor, have you check out the Marzpak?  I have tried both at trade shows I would say the one big advantage to the DV rig is you can let it both hands go if you need to. But I'm still desiding between the two.8)

Re:  DVRig PRo Review

Re:  DVRig PRo Review

The King,

Do you mean you CAN'T let both hands go with the DVrig? Also, who was first, the Marzpak or the Easy/Tortlerig? Someone shoudl be sued--they're almost exactly the same design!

no.. just like your head came with the little plate that attatches to the camera, you need to buy the seperate QR assembly that uses that same plate, that goes on the rig. Then you can switch between the dvrig and the tripod without needing to change plates on the camera. the QR assembly is the exact same physical size as the stock one on the DVrig, but the stock QR socket on the DVrig wont accept the 503 plate.

Yes you can let both hands go on the DVrig pro. As far as someone being sued " A backpack is a backpack! 8)

so- i hate to keep asking here to clarify but here's what I am hearing

I have a bogen 503 head- this cam plate WILL NOT fit the base on the dvrig

i need to buy another QR plate (manfrotto 357) as the qr plate will fit on the 503 head?

correct- sorry if I'm still confused but there is some conflicting info in the thread....just looking to clarify....

supply a link if possible- please

Thanks

Re:  DVRig PRo Review

Re:  DVRig PRo Review

right. The 501 plate and the 503 plate will not work with the DVrig. You dont hafta buy a new QR, the dvtec rig comes with one, it just doesnt fit your head.
