DVrackHD in Europe ?

Hi,

I live in France and I would like to purchase DVrackHD. It seems to be not so simple...
The Serious Magic store is closed, so I have to buy on Adobe Store but DVrack isn't on the soft list in France... It is only on North America Adobe store.

Put a wrong address could bring me some licence problems...

Is there some european DVrackHD owner over here ?
And how did you purchase??

Hi there, I live in South Africa, had the same problem.

I purchased DVRack HD through www.softwrap.com.

Just be carefull, the serious magic website download is the SD Version.

phone softwrap to get the username and password to their FTP site, and link to the HD Trail download

BUT BEFORE YOU CLICK THE BUY NOW OPTION, CHECK THAT IT IS INDEED THE "HD" version on the splash screen!!!!!!!!!

Are you sure the second link is the good one, it seems it's the SD .exe version... no?

I would really be surprised if there was such a thing as a DV Rack 2.0 HD trial version, because Serious Magic/Adobe have stated that licensing issues prevented them from creating one.

They would have to pay royalties for every copy that is downloaded, whether it makes them money or not. Therefore, the trial version does not support HDV or DVCProHD support.
 
That's how I purchased it, phone softwrap, +44 (0) 207 089 4111.

Speak to the support guys. They'll give you access to the softwrap FTP site, where you must download 2 files.

1. for DVRack 2.0 HD (filename: DVRack20HD.exe), and one
2. for DVCProHDDecoder (filename: DVCProHDDecoder.exe) (cause that's included in the price), and without it you can't edit DVCPro on your system.

Be prepared to struggle a bit with registration, cause there is also a patch you need to download and install (filename: DVRack20HDPatch1b.EXE, of of serious magic's site, link: http://www.seriousmagic.com/help/dvr2HDupdates.cfm), and might require you to re-register. the patch fixes various problems.

I had to phone softwrap to reset my registrations so that I can register on my laptop and my desktop after loading the update, cause the license allows for 2 installations per user.

p.s. It's worth the struggle, it's an awesome piece of software.

Don't activiate (registration is a separate process) until you have installed the patch from the site. I did this last Sat and it worked flawlessly. Also the patch tells you which DB server to contact that helps avoid any activation problems.

I really can't phone to softwrap, because my english language is so poor... and i will understand nothing :crybaby:

I'm going to see if there's a solution on their site...
 
I got softwrap's answer...

"Unfortunately we only handle the encryption/security side of things here at Softwrap.

Please can you contact the author of this title at - www.adobe.com about the issue you have with their software "

I'll call Adobe France today but...
 
Ok, Adobe France can send me it by ups from US, at almost 600 euros !! (800US$)

Too bad.

I think now the only way is to put a wrong adress on the North America Adobe store...
What do you think ?
