DVCproHD to DVCpro50

I'm planning a music video at the moment and I'm wanting to shoot some slomo 720p 50fps but I also know my final output will be digi beta so DVCpro50 makes sense.
I will also be using twixtor (motion retiming) inside after effects and my experience with 720p and twixtor is slow.... real slow (25mins to render a 12sec clip).
My Idea is to shoot 720p 50fps for my slowmo shots then convert to DVCpro50 before taking to twixtor for retiming.
I wondering whats the best way to convert DVCproHD to DVCpro50 ?
I'd probably export a full quality quicktime from FCP and then use compressor to convert to DVCpro50 but haven't tested this yet.
Anybody tried this yet workflow ?

I would just convert the 720P footage to an uncompressed Standard Definition quicktime to maintain the original's quality instead of recompressing. I imagine its the frame size is whats taking longer with the processing rather than the filesize but I could be wrong. Also the dealing with compression might be the issue and an uncompressed might be cleaner to work with for the processing.

Thanks,

Majormorgan.

Run it through shake with a resize filter down to the correct size, with the filter set to Lancos. Silky smooth, top quality. And no gamma shifts.

Do the slo-mo shots to the cards last, so you can leave it on the card at the end of the shoot. Take the camera to the editing bay and use the component output and plug that into the component in on a kona card or decklink card and capture into the NLE as DVCPro50

25min for a 12 sec clip is too slow for you??? I've done things in after effects that take days to render out. Dude just stick with the higher quality and go have a sandwich while it renders. Sorry if I sound rude, it's just that complaining over 25min of render time seems silly. I bet it has already taken you longer than that to come here and ask us about the workaround and how to downconvert. You could have been done already. :D

Not complaining just stating a fact.
PS have decided to go ahead and just shoot 720p after my recent tests with txitor and how it loves the extra rez :O)
