DV Rack Problems

I've just got DV Rack 2.0hd installed on my Dell Dual Core lappy (2g ram). The problems I'm having...

1/ I get live monitoring for exactly 35 seconds before it freezes. I switched Windows settings to "Adjust for Best Performance" as per the Serious Magic FAQ. No change.

2/ Using the conversion tool on my desktop I ended up with a file that played back at twice the speed (in media player and vegas). The file was transferred directly from p2 card to internal hdd. On the laptop I get a file with no video (in wmp and vegas)

3/ The aspect ratio of the converted file on my desktop plays in its native aspect ratio in wmp rather than 1280x720. This may be unaviodable but it's a bit of nuisance. I like cineforms conversion tool (correct aspect, smaller file size, less demanding on the processor), but I don't want to shell out another $200 for no good reason.

I've read somewhere that 2g ram may be a problem, but I can't find the thread.

I've emailed Serious Magic but I'm needing a quicker response.

Any help (especially on the first 2 problems) would be much appreciated.

Thanks,

Steve

Yup, there is a very specific issue NOT to use 2GB of RAM.

RAM issue aside the bare minimum specs for dual core with DV Rack 2 HD is 1.8 GHz or higher and 5400 RPM drive or faster.

The 2GB RAM patch is in final beta testing and should be out in early October. The patch will also include a fix for the audio problem in the DVCPro HD decoder.

Thanks guys...hopefully the fix will help. I'm not sure what's causing what at the moment...I did a conversion with the Raylight and Cineform trial converters with perfect results. Can any of the SM guys help?

The conversion tool does not work for me on the laptop or the desktop (1gig ram).
In your first post, you specify that converted clips are playing back at double-time. What were the camera settings for these clips (resolution, frame rate...)? Are you having additional problems with the Batch Converter?

Hi Mark. I'm going to take my problems off this forum. I can't even activate the decoder now on my laptop (I was working with the trial version to test). I'll sort that out with softwrap then try again.

Re your question, the file I tried to convert was 25pn.
