DV Expo - With Daily updates from Rush/EVS

Is it December 7th yet? I can't wait to see the official HVX release! :grin:
Anybody going to DV Expo who's willing to give us some (near) live updates? I noticed Barry and Jarred haven't been posting much lately, so maybe they've got something planned.
 
I think this entire forum will be rocked to the ground with information Sumfun. Just wait. I'm going Wednesday so if nobody posts before I get a chance to, I will be sure to fill everyone in on the juicy details..
 
I'll be at DV Expo on the 7th. I have an unbelievably busy schedule that day, so when I return to my office late in the evening I'll post some of my thoughts about the HVX. :thumbsup:

Hmm...anybody out there hungry for more info on the HVX? Ya think?

Okay, only 1 more day to go! Haven't seen anything new at the Panasonic website yet. Anybody got any news leaks?

Just realized that the HVX will be announced on Pearl Harbor Day. Hmm... is it just coincidence? :evil:

Man, I wish I could be there this year... damn finals.

Oh well, I'll be living in Southern Cali for DV Expo 06.
 
Thanks for the pics Rush. Would be great if that's a working model for the FS-100. Maybe we wouldn't have to wait so long to get one. Tell them to include 90 degree angled connectors, though.

That HVX set up looks pretty nice too. Looks like a side by side comparison of several camera shooting pictures of a model train set. The display screens look a little small, but if you can tell the difference on small screens, then that's pretty good. If Panny is willing to go head to head with Sony on still images (pretty much this setup), then they must be pretty confident about the picture quality.

In LA, yes, been hanging with Jarred and having some fun that I can't talk about yet but should be able to in, oh, a couple of hours... :)

I have no idea if wifi is available on the show floor or not. It's a pretty small show, Sony didn't even bother to show up (I guess they reserved space but didn't attend, guess that's part of their cost-cutting moves). JVC's here, and Canon has a booth with a theater and some XLH1's but I haven't been able to get over there yet. Avid and Apple and Canopus are here, and EVS, etc. But it's not like NAB. Panasonic's definitely the big dog on the show floor, they have the biggest space by far.

Haven't seen much of anything at all yet, as I've been in the Panasonic booth or the HVX presentation room trying to help answer questions etc. Looking forward to getting some time tomorrow to see what else is there!
 
was there today & will be tomorrow for the blu-ray & web video panel discussions...

but i do have to say i made a b-line for the hvx200 (&other panasonic cams)... & it's everything & more (imho) than i've read thus far. was nice to see that unit atop the camera as well... panasonic wants our biz & will get it w/ this. btw: i saw more than a few around the expo, how many pre-release cameras are there besides the two barry & jarred have???

hey barry, was actually at the show today and was standing next to you near the door during the 2:00 presentation. i was the guy who asked when your hvx book will be coming out. =)
