dust specs in viewfinder

I was shooting up in the windy Blue Ridge Mountains this weekend and it seems like some dust specks got into my XH-A1 viewfinder. (first I cleaned the lens to make sure the specks weren't there). I cleaned the front of the viewfinder but that didn't do the job. So I think the specks got blown in behind the viewfinder.

I read here about a method for cleaning out the specks by blowing them out with a compressed air can -- is that something I should try? Has anybody else had this problem? What would be the proper procedure?

Thanks for any help!

This seems to be a fairly common problem with the XH-A1. I had some small particles in the VF of my nearly new XH-A1, the solution for me was to push the long tube nozzle of a compressed air can under the rubber lens hood, and blast it. Push the extension tube of the can under the rubber (front end), facing toward the back of the cam. A couple of blasts should do it..

Lift the viewfinder so it's sticking straight up, under the diopter adjuster there is a small piece that can be removed by pressing up the tab. You should be able to blast some air in there and give it a good cleaning.

Thanks, Sack! I tried it and it worked like a charm! Just removed the little tab piece near the diopter adjuster and blew some air in with a can.
