Dumb question

Hi. I know this is a dumb question but can you fit two adaptors on one lens? Like if I buy an old russian helios lens with a CANON EOS lens adaptor, could I fit a CANON to micro 4/3 adaptor onto it? Thanks

yes you may, but it will act like an "extension tube" (depending on how physically long that adapter is) and affect your infinity focus

try to sell or trade that m42-to-Canon adapter and get a proper m42-to-M4/3 one. This way, you can start collecting all kinds of great m42 lenses :cheesy:

Actually, I have a set of Russian, Helios 44-2, Jupiter 9, Jupiter 37a... and a Mir1b that I sold. All have m42 to Fotodiox EOS adapters, very marginal plate like how a Nikon to EOS looks like.

When I got my GH2, I bought the Fotodiox EOS to M43, they all work fine and still sharp with no effect that I can see.

I operate on 7D primarily so I need to keep them for EOS.

No it won't act as an "extension tube", especially in this case because I've done exactly the same thing, a m42->EOS, and then a EOS->m43 adapter. As long as you don't have a crappy adapter that doesn't meet specs.

You have to understand, that difference in the registry btwn the m42 mount and EOS mount, + difference btwn EOS mount and m43 mount = registry difference btwn m42 and m43 mounts.
