DuelAdapter not recognizing drivers

I can't get my DuelAdapter to recognize the P2 drivers.
After spending time with the tech support at DuelAdapter, they told me to ask around or go to GeekSquad to find out whythe P2 drivers arent being recognized...so here I go...

I installed and uninstalled the P2 drivers, the duel adapter software and the P2 viewer several times and in every order possible - everytime I plug in a 16gig P2 card, I get an error in the DeviceManager saying the drivers are not installed for the 'mass storage controller' (which appears when I insert the DuelAdapter) and the device doesnt not create a new drive in 'my computer'

When I go to 'add/remove programs' the Panasonic drivers are present and supposedly working. However, I can't find any evidence of the drivers in the Device manager. The only time I see a problem is when I insert the adapter with a P2 card in it- it brings up a yellow exclamation point saing the drivers for this device are not installed.
I cant use the 'install drivers now' button from that point because it looks for an "inf" file. The P2 drivers only have a "setup.exe' file in the zipped folder. If I try to point it to the Windows.inf folder, it does no good.

After installing the DuelAdapter software, the icon in the task manager tells me that the device is installed and working correctly and when I plug in the 16gig card, clicking on the icon says "DuelAdapter inserted: working correctly: Mass storage Controller" So, Im assuming its installed correctly.

I have the updated firmware for the card and the camera.
I have a Dell Inspiron E1705 running XP Pro.

Anyone have any thoughs? or run into a similar problem?

any chance of turning off that animated gif?

kinda of makes it hard to read your posts, plus the forum policies don't permit them

I found out that Windows XP Pro has trouble connecting the adapter with the P2 drivers. So even after installing the P2 drivers the adapter doesnt connect the device with the drivers.
The solution was to force install the drivers through the device manager.
When I would plug in the adapter if you go to the device manager it will tell you there are no drivers installed for the adapter (it refers to the adapter as a 'mass storage controller'.)
If you click on the 'install drivers now' button and direct it to look at:
C:\Program Files\Panasonic P2\Drivers\Card
it will immediate recognize the drive and everything works very well.

One other guy said he pointed the program to a different folder for the P2 drivers, so I guess you just have to find where the correct .inf file is and direct it to that folder.

I hope this helps and wasn't too confusing.
