Sorry i could probably look into the manual, and I am going to as soon as I find the PDF. But can you DUB card 2 card?

I am afraid to try to offload to a G4 so I want to dub a card to an extra 8 Gig before I try this.

Well, you mean copying in the computer? Or in the camera?

There's no in-camera function to do this. But if you had one card mounted in the camera (in PC mode) and the other card mounted in your computer, you could copy the contents from one to the other.

Or, alternately, you could put both cards in the camera and use your computer to drag one card's image onto the other. That'll take a while though, as both cards would be fighting for the USB bus bandwidth.

Arg. yeah that's what I meant: inside the camera. That's officially the new update I'd like to have. p2 dub.

It could be useful... right?

Just like a LOCK for that pesky Auto Iris switch. MAN OH MAN... that thing pisses me off.

IN fact, I'd like a lock for Manual Iris as well. Sheesh.

Perhaps more to the point -

Just write-protect the card before you put it in the G4, and the card will be fine.

Write protecting it will stop the info from being screwed? Too many Mac horror stories with p2 around here.

That's our current working theory -- that it's the write-protect tab that's at the root of the issue; inserting a card in a mac without the write-protect switch protected may be what causes the glitch. At least, that's what we're going with until someone proves otherwise!
