well, technically... the OS problem with glitchy imported files... I still get those... I just said FCP, cause it's a mac issue either way. and there's no fixing it in FCP till the fix for the OS comes out...

I have 2 mbp, on the first one Cynic's driver worked perfectly, on the 2nd-tried everything to no avail- machines are identical. For some reason I thought to reformat card, P2 simple check(firmware) my 4 gb card ,installed dsa for OSX 4.9 that worked, now both work fine one with Cynic's , one with DSA's. Go figure, and at this point, not asking anymore questions. Chuck
 
Finally!

Did a drastic thing, and stripped the machine back to do a fresh OS install. Started over with all teh drivers etc, and it works...

Still may not trust it for a while, but so far it works.

Given the heavily inconsistent problems, I have to think that some 3rd party wild hair is causing the issue.

Which it could be identified.
