C100: Dual Pixel Autofocus Upgrade question

I love the upgrade, it's turned my C100 from a Cinema Camera into a Cinema Camcorder. BUT there's something I'd like to see happen, and I'm wondering if there's a way to do it. Like the one-push autofocus, I'd love to have an assignable button to momentarily CANCEL the continuous autofocus as I hold it. This way I can follow a subject to a point, hold the focus while I recompose it, then release the hold and let it focus again. Or just get the subject over to the side of the frame. Anyone?

(I'd also love to be able to define the area of the frame where autofocus locks on, but this is probably asking too much given the physics of the contraption).

Well, that rocks, thank you. I check in on Philip regularly, don't know how I missed that one. Maybe I'm being picky, but I'd rather have it be what I think is called a "moment switch", so the focus lock is only working as I'm pressing the button, when I release it, it carries on doing its thing. The way it is now it takes two more clicks (and they're audible).

Agreed - I was also misunderstanding it to start with, thinking AF Lock would be momentary. Releasing the button has less effect on handheld work than having to press it in and release.

One for the wish list, I guess.

Ben.

I was really excited for the upgrade, and was hoping that the AF noise from the 24-105 wasn't audible with a shotgun mic on cam, off to the side with a shock mount. Unfortunately it is. I was looking forward to some RnG stuff with it, but if you can hear it focusing the whole time, what is the point of RnG with off cam audio?
