DTE for the Canon XH-A1

Been scouring the forums and archives on this site and DVInfo looking for a reasonable solution for DTE with the A1.

So far, the Firestore FS-C seems like a good (and expensive) deal, but even after reading other user's experience one thing is not clear to me. Can the FS-C record HDV at 24f in native QT?

Can any of you knowledgeable guys out there answer this?

Futhermore is there a clear answer on whether the MCE Quickstream is capable of the same thing? Or any other solutions for that matter.

the firestore fs-c records 24f in native quicktime

unplug it every time you change the camera signal to reset the firestore recorder

Also, agwah (or anyone), if the firestore were to come unplugged or lose power somehow, would information be lost? It's kind of a bummer if it is. I've read about some DTE drives that just record the information and then format later when you're ready to offload footage which prevents them from losing shots or getting corrupted files in case of a power problem.
