Can anyone confirm the make and model of a Dtap cable they have successfully used with the C70? I have two C70 bodies, and neither DC port works anymore. I had used awooden camera Dtap cable, but I don't know if it caused the problem.

Thank you! Any idea if the kind of D-tap I was plugged into could have caused the problem? I don't really have a good understanding of volts, amps etc. The wooden camera cable I was using is advertised to have a regulator box to regulate the voltage, so I figured it was the safest to use.

Anything can happen when it comes to electronics but Wooden Camera is a pretty reputable brand so I wouldn't have any reason to think they were the cause outside of the typical "one off" bad or defective cable that any manufacturer can and does have. That said, I have no experience with their particular cable so I can't really be of help there.

If I were you, I'd also look into the battery you were tapping into. It would seem like that could just as easily be the culprit; maybe more-so depending on the brand you have. Some of the cheaper batteries out there have been shown to have issues. I'm not saying all do but definitely some and that can vary from exact same battery-to-battery because of lesser QC issues. I would just want to know by "process of elimination" where the issue comes from.

Now I'm testing again, and the port may be working. It's not showing mains power when I have the Canon power cord attached. It still shows the battery meter. BUT the meter isn't going down, and if I remove the battery, the camera stays powered on. Maybe Canon changed how the OS shows if it is plugged in to mains? Every other cinema EOS camera I have used takes the battery icon away when you plug the cord into the DC port.
