Are there ANY viewfinders out there that aren't adhesive or
Zacuto prices?
I really like the aesthetics of Shoot35's Viewfinder, but I dont
want one that is Adhesive. But I dont like the price of Zacutos
Zfinder Pro (I also dont want the Jr.)
I'n camera world (where prices are high) a zacuto isn't that expensive. I mean a follow focus costs $500 for even remotely pro grade, a food monitor is $1K. I had a Z Finder I bought used (V2, 3X) for $275 and I used it so little I wound up selling it 6 months later for $250.

Tim,
I just purchased a "Carry Speed" viewfinder for my Canon 60d and I am quite happy with it. I do not like the adhesive ones either and was never interested in attaching a metal frame to my LCD. If you have a flip out screen, they offer a optional neoprene wrap that works beautifully for holding the viewfinder to the LCD. If your screen does not flip out, there is an optional metal frame version that mounts to the tripod hole of your camera allowing attachment of the viewfinder without the typical adhesive metal frame. To follow are links to the options mentioned from Amazon all are very reasonably priced:
I find the quality quite acceptable and the 2.5 x magnification of the viewfinder really helps me nail focus much more easily than pre-viewfinder. It is way better than squinting at the LCD on brights days. I hope you find this information helpful.
Cavision sells a swing-away setup that I use - they have it for (at least) the 5D, T2i, maybe 7D, maybe a few more now.I think it was about $200 when I got it. Swing-away mount attaches to the tripod plate or rail system.
Redrock micro sells a metal plate for the hoodman - the hoodman relies on either rubber bands (don't go there) or a sort of "crane" thing that mounts in your hot shoe - never liked that setup.
