DSLR Baseplate

To attach a follow focus or a mattebox, I need a DSLR Baseplate.
The Redrock one, although nice, is expensive.

Are there any good alternatives?
Ive seen many different kinds people are using, but I have not gotten a response from anyone yet.

search DSLR rig on ebay, lots of interesting stuff. The seller gini.2011 or whatever accepts offers on his rigs. I got an $800 rig for $350.

X2 on that seller, I got a great rig for a fraction of the popular names out there and the build quality is great. the guy is in Korea but hes been reliable form personal experience, however don't get your feelings hurt if he doesnt answer emails too quickly, it is my understanding he doesn't speak English too well so his responses are slow. but his rigs are great and not pretentiously priced.

Check out Gini on ebay or Express35.com

You can always just attach a Bogen 577 sled system to the Rod Clamp ontop of the shoulder mount. It's a far cheaper solution to just get you some height off the rods (you could also shim the sled system higher), but will not get you the precise 80mm height that matte boxes and other cinema accessories abide by. That is the benefit of the Redrock DSLR Baseplate, it is designed specifically to convert the standards of the Canon DSLRs to the standards of cinema.

Shoot35 has a DSLR mount: http://www.shoot35.com/products/dslraccessories/dslrmount/dslrmountframe.html

But, I thought I could buy the BOGEN 577 quick release instead of using their version and attached it to the Shoot35 Tripod Connector: http://www.sgpro.co.uk/products/rodsupport/tripodconnector/tripodconnectorframe.html
But, will it be the right height? Will I need some type of shims? --> Just like this person did: http://theeditman.com/blogg/content/binary/Shoot35clampM577.jpg

This seems to be an easier way for me to remove the camera from my rig and attach it to my tripod rig, rather than using Redrock's DSLR Baseplate where I would have to remove the whole thing off the rods. Plus, I think its still cheaper.
