Hi

Here in Sweden, the biggest reseller of Panasonic products has dropped the prices for the AG-AC160 with 10000 sek, aproximately $1500, in one week. I also noticed that a reseller in GB has dropped their prices too.

Anyone has any ideas why? New models coming soon or is it just competition from Sonys HXR-NX3?

Regards,

/Bo

Hi, the PX270 looks like a great camera. The cost is 5700$ If it was the same cost as the ac160, I would get it, but for that price I can get a HMC150 and Ac160. The camera has a lot of great options, but the options are not a need for me. The video quality, bitrate, file format on the HMC150, ac160 is perfect for what I do. So at this time it is not cost effective to get a camera that offers more things then I need. I don't need cloud, or bigger file sizes with higher bitrates.
I think it is important to know what you need and what is overkill so you don't overspend your camera budget.

I just wish they make an upgraded version of the Ac160 with better autofocus. And keep the price around 3000$
If nothing comes out, then I will get the ac160 and hope the autofocus does not go out of whack on shots.

But thank you for sharing. This camera is going to be great for people that need these option. I wish I had the extra cash for it. If Panasonic lowers it 2700$, I will get it.

My output is still DVD and the 1080 HD interent for youtube and vimeo.

US prices don't seemed to have moved but there is a nice rebate that expires the end of March. $3700 after rebate.
