:o Big problem, I'm using videotape PanasonicPro with a DVX100A. But sometimes, the time code jump of a second without blank on the videotape. When I stop Rec and restart it without eject the videotape, a second missed on the time code. For example, the time code jump from 00:30:28:00 to 00:30:30:00 ????
The problems that occurs is when I do BatchCapture.

Can anyones help me? I'm lost. Thanks

Re: drop frames on recording

Timecode should be kept ok on pause but if you shut down you need to do press the Rec Check button next to the eject button before rolling.
If you did a review of the previous shot it's best to do it as well.

Re: drop frames on recording

Thanks Scott. I'm a familiar user of camcorder (XL1, GL1, PD-150, AGDVX100A). I know how to review and get back on the end of the time code without blue tape (new Timecode). I have never seen the kind of troubles I'm talking about.

The time code realy lose a second on the "burning". I don't know if it's a trouble with the videotape i'm using? a kind of "compansation" for the 24P advanced mode? or a trouble with the reading head of my Panasonic?

I'v never met a trouble like that. It appears a big problems for the capture mode.

I hope my question is clearly, because my head is not...

thanks guys ???

Re: drop frames on recording

Just to note in 24p it runs in Non-drop frame timecode.
Do the numbers work ok when display on camera?
Is the problem only visible on capture?

Re: drop frames on recording

Also, when reviewing a scene already shot, you will lose about 2 seconds at the end of the scene, as the new record point "backs up" into previously recorded footage. Always run a few extra seconds at the end of a take to protect yourself.

Even with the above situation, I've never had a timecode break. Is there any other picture anomaly when the code jumps?

Re: drop frames on recording

Thanks again! I did not see problems about the images except the timecode jump between two Rec mode. The problem is not only visible on capture: the tmiecode jump on the video tape (not everytimes, the first jump is usually after the middle of the tape).
Maybe here is a clue? I'v got a big desynchronisation between audio and image on clips (FCP4) if the clip is much longer than 7 minutes. I know ther is a plugin to fit audio and video, I gonna do this tonight, but maybe the lapse is to big (like 2 seconds)?

For now I can't say more... I have to check this morning if the preset is on "Non-Drop frames timecode".

If you have any advice...

thanks
