I'm getting a repeatable 19:08s, with 3:51s remaining on card. Recorded two sessions, both stopped at that time, with that 3:51 remaining. Can't figure out what's going on. Makes 3 4.6gb span files with a small 24mb 4th span file. Recorded using a Transcend Calass 10 16GB card.
Any suggestions?
I think it will be about 50 on AQuamotion v2, and 32 on Sea.
It is a compelling choice (aqua). It is intra, so each frame can be independently accessed by your nle, and more bitrate is distributed to capturing an accurate noise print per frame. It is stable and reliable without quirks. On the other hand, you may manage better overall image quality w/ my old fail safe, which is based on an AQ of 3, and allows significantly higher rates on average complexity frames for both 1080 and 720. That said, SeAQuake is the very best you will ever manage from the gh2, and apparently there is now a card that will support spanning with seaquake...

So.. if you don't need 80% vari speed but do need spanning, Seaquake + 95MB/s is the way to go by far. The quality is jaw dropping.
DPreview has tests on all of this stuff. Smooth has I think about 2/3 EV more dynamic range than cinema. I personally prefer the color rendering of cinema to smooth and I'm willing to trade-off a little dynamic range for more attention to the midtones. Cinema also seems to have slightly less noise than smooth. Once you accurately know what each mode does, it's a matter of preference.
I get the rest of the specs for AQuamotion v2 but I don't understand what the 80% is. Please, if you don't mind, explaining this? Thanks!!
So does Av2 span on the Sandisk Extreme 30Mb cards?
