T2i DP1x or DP-SLR smallHD external monitor?

I think I will need to pick up one of the two smallHD external monitors (I already looked into cheaper alternatives, they do not interest me, so please I want to keep this thread on track with choosing a smallHD monitor):
DP-SLR (preorders being taken) or DP1x ?

Has anybody else made this decision, chosen one over the other and if so why? I have a T2i and sunlight really blasts the LCD on the back of the T2i, so I want one of the smallHD external monitors with the hood to block out sunlight glare. But which of the two to get? Thoughts?

Also-- anybody have a discount coupon code that will work during checkout at smallhd.com?

for handheld the big one is a little large and heavy - Id like the small one

consider power

the batts are/were pretty crap (for using all day) the SmallHD DP1 requires regulated 12v so I had to get a custom breakout box to work with Vlock batts

more costs but now im nicely on standard batt system

I pre-ordered the DP-SLR based on what I saw out @ NAB. I should get it end of August.

I'm pretty pumped that with he hdmi/hd-sdi version, I will be able to use it both on my HPX-500 and the 7d.

I wish smallHD had a preorder for the DP-SLR as a kit with all the stuff they show selling with their DP1x, that would have made my decision. But I have three short films to shoot (all outdoors) in Sept and Oct and can't afford the unknown factors of cost and availability of accessories for the DP-SLR, that is weighing heavily on my decision.

The DP-SLR surely is lighter-- 10 ounces versus 24 ounces for the DP1x, but is also lots smaller. I am wondering if maybe the much larger DP1x would be good for shooting T2i mounted on a tripod (I also have a cpmfilmtools.com carbon cage to mount the T2i and LCD, etc). If I go handheld with the T2i with no tripod I might have to suck it up and just use the camera's LCD. Difficult decision, leaning towards DP1x for size, hood and fully packaged with accessories, cost.

The DP1x is nice, just make sure that if you get it that you do NOT mount it on the hotshoe. It is way to heavy for that.

Last week I bought this carbon cage for my T2i,

can you or someone toss me bone as to how I would mount the DP1x to the cage? A link to a mounting accessory I should buy?

Okay it is a done deal, I ordered the DP1x bundled kit. And a ballmount, and a rail pad (to mount the ballmount and thus the DP1x to) for the DSLR carbon carge I recently purchased from cpmfilmtools.com
