downloaded P2 DRIVER-now what

I downloaded the P2 driver and it views the clips from the card. Now what do i do to transfer them from my compaq laptop to a external hardrive. I own a MAXTOR external hardrive. Does it matter that i have mac files inside the hardrive. It wont conflict with information from a pc? I need to get the footage from the cards into my MAC G5. And how do i clear the card. And lastly what is card manager for?

If someone can explain it i sure would appreciate it.

First off, the external hard drive will need to be formatted using FAT32 if you want to write to it from both Windows and the Mac. If you only need to read the files on the Mac, you can use NTFS as the file system, since the Mac can read (but not write) that.

To get files from the P2 card to the external hard drive, you can just drag-and-drop the files. Create a destination folder on the external drive to keep things tidy, then go to the P2 card, press Ctrl-A to select all items, press Ctrl-C to copy, go to the folder on the external hard drive, and press Ctrl-V to paste. After the files have been copied, you can either delete them from the P2 card, or reformat the card from Windows or in the camera.

A far easier way is to use P2Genie.

Is p2 genie only available over the internet? Because i dont have a PAYPAL account. How simple is it. Using this can i unload quickly?
 
Yes - P2 Genie is an online order only. This is the only reason we can sell it so cheap. You don't need a Paypal account to buy the P2 Genie - just click the "Don't have a PayPal Account - click here" link under the login-form and you'll be able to pay with credit card.

Tony i have decided to get p2 genie. The only problem is i havent decided whether i get it for the mac or pc. Try to help me with this if i get it for the pc take me through it. I unload the card, and how do i transfer it to an external hardrive. Will it create a folder i can drag into the external hardrive?

P2 Genie will copy from the card to the external drive directly, and automatically.
You just insert the P2card and P2Genie will copy the card to the disk of your choice, which could be the external disk.

Get the version that match your laptop - if its a compaq, then get the windows version....
