COMMERCIAL: Doritos Commercials (Matt Sconce, Troy Ruff, Gary Sconce, and Shane Foster)

We just revised the audio for Meteor - Hero and Meteor - DOG. We think the mix works better. They should be up tomorrow or the next day.
 
Well, I've settled on the Meteor Dog as my favorite. I just think he is so cute when he growls at the meteor and then howls a victory cheer as he smashes it. Then he says, "Rub my belly!" So funny.

My favorite is Vampire. I am amazed that our site has almost 1000 views already which is greatly helping our viewcount. Vampire crested 4000 and is rapidly heading toward 5000. the top 10 finalist will be announced 1/3/11 and voting will begin then as well. The site www.commercialsofawesome.com received over 300 views last night alone. That is amazing! re-post it everywhere (blogs, forums, emails, facebook) and tell your friends to do the same so we can make sure everyone has seen them 5000 times each! :) haha Then if we make the finals on 1-3-11, awareness will be peaked so voting can get us into the Superbowl. How cool would it be to see one of them in the actual Superbowl! Whoa baby!
 
I think Meteor Dog and Vampire are the best, although they are all good. If I had to pick a winner it would be Meteor Dog. The dog is so funny and him running into the wall is hilarious.

Yay! I totally agree with you. That's DVXuser Westfest 2nd place winner Troy Ruff running into the wall. I like them all but I love the contorted and strange vibe I get from the dog flying, saving the world, and then ordering the master to 'rub his belly.' So off the wall and hilariously unexpected.

Who knows how Doritos will vote, but we are at least competitive. Man, the hits on Vampire are gigantic. If you add the previous hits to the recent on Meteor Dog, they are nearly 4000 also.

I am proud that many DVXusers have produced such quality spots for the competition. I know we had fun doing ours. If we get selected, well that'll be great... If not, we were able to work on bettering our film making skills and will make use of them in the next project. All good. :thumbsup:

Thanks Noel and Marlon! We had some other ideas that we were unable to get to that are really good. I would say we will do them next year, but with the Kerner Group co-producing deal we just worked out for MAGIC we will probably (happily) be in production of that feature film next year. That is a nice problem to have! We owe a lot to DVXusers for any success we have had as they always support each other.

I have seen so many good commercials. The competition is very good, so I will content myself on being happy with the efforts, and who knows what will be chosen.

Working with Matt and Troy Ruff is so fun and is a reward in itself. Those guys are amazingly creative and seriously insane... Wait until we finish MAGIC and use 3D not as a gimmick but to help tell the story! Whoot! :beer:
 
Well, just checked on our vids after a few days of MAGIC craziness and Vampire is almost to 6000 views. I am excited to see what the judges end up liking. I figure there are about 30 videos I think are competitive in Doritos and about 20 in Pepsi Max. Pretty good odds for all of us DVXusers who have a good video up. It would be cool if we DVXusers took all the spots.

It is strange the Meteor Dog has the least views since we revised the sound. That is my favorite. I am not expecting anything here, so I won't be disappointed. Who knows how the judges will vote. They might like the scary rocker dude, or the kid jumping around in his undies... :shocked:
